Jamaican Experience

Posted by ChroniclesCapersCanards on 4:09 PM
When I went to Jamaica this summer I experienced foods that I have never consumed before. The culture there is so different than ours that their food has a whole different taste with no preservatives. For breakfast, a food that stuck out to me was their tropical fruit that consisted of star fruit, passion fruit, and papaya. The fruit was delicious that had a very tropical taste to it very different from our fruit. For lunch I tried jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was very popular in Jamaica, it had a rich coating with a type of spice mixed into it. Fried plantanes was always a type of fruit I tried which is fried bananas that grow off their plantane trees. For dinner, my dad tried goat (which I do not reccomend) but he said that it was delicious! Instead of goat I had their Jamaican beef patty. For dessert I had the most amazing ice cream ever. The ice cream is freshly made from their cocoa beans so it had no perservitives. It was so creamy and sweet! Overall my experience in Jamaica really opened up my mind to different foods. Lindsay H.
